Animated educational videos, made from one lesson image
Reelitly turns a lesson diagram into a short narrated video. AI labels each part of the image, a voiceover explains each label as it appears, and you download an HD MP4 to share with your class. You don't record your voice or animate anything by hand.
Why labelled, narrated diagrams work
Richard Mayer's research on multimedia learning gives three findings that line up with this format:
- Multimedia principle: people learn better from words and pictures than from words alone.
- Signaling principle: cues such as arrows and call-outs that point at the essential material help learners find what matters.
- Temporal contiguity principle: narration works better played at the same time as the picture it describes than before or after it.
A Reelitly video is built the same way: a picture, a pointer to each key part, and narration timed to each pointer.
What teachers make with it
Biology and anatomy
Label the parts of a cell, the chambers of the heart, or the bones of the hand. The Pointer Reveal template draws a line from each label to its spot, one at a time, while the narration explains it.
History and geography
Start from a map or a historical scene and reveal places, dates or events in the order you want to teach them.
Science processes
Walk through the water cycle, photosynthesis or the parts of a circuit. Set when each label appears so the reveal follows the process step by step.
Lists and comparisons
The Grid Reveal template suits "five facts about…" videos and side-by-side comparisons for revision.
How to make one
- Describe the image you need, and list the parts it must show.
- Check the labels the AI proposes. Fix the wording, move any that sit in the wrong place, and put them in the order you want them read.
- Pick a voice and generate the narration.
- Export an HD MP4.
You can edit every label before export, so you decide what the video says.
Ready for your class
Export in 1920x1080 landscape for a projector, your learning platform or YouTube, 1080x1920 portrait for phones, or 1080x1080 square. The result is a standard MP4 file, so you upload it wherever you already put lesson videos.
You own the videos you make and can use them in paid courses too. Reelitly does not train AI models on your content.
Start with 50 free credits
A new account gets 50 credits without a card. A project's first image, voiceover and render cost 35 credits together, so your first video is free. Credit packs start at $5 for 250 credits and never expire.
Questions
Do I need to record my own voice?
No. Text-to-speech reads the label script, synced to each reveal.
Can I use the diagrams from my existing slides?
Not yet. Image upload isn't available, so describe the diagram instead and list the parts it must include. The AI draws it and labels it.
What if a label is wrong?
Edit the text or move it before you export.
